It really doesn’t matter what the label says, just as long as you know which input you’ve plugged it into. You’ll need to find a 3.5mm to RCA audio adapter and plug it into any of the RCA inputs available on your receiver, like DVD, Tape or AUX. With an Echo Dot, or any of the Echo 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen speakers, Echo Show 2nd gen, 5 or 8, you can use the 3.5mm line out analog jack to connect to your AV receiver. The Echo Dot will run you about $50, but during Black Friday and Holidays season, you can buy it for around $25-$30. Thinking of purchasing an Amazon Echo Dot to use with your home A/V stereo system? That’s a super idea as it’s an inexpensive way to play streaming music on your existing speaker system, especially if you have an AV receiver and excellent sounding speakers already in use or thinking of creating a home audio system from scratch.
